Our Commitment

HomeRecordingStudio.ca is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We work to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA.

Measures Taken

We have taken the following measures to ensure accessibility:

  • Semantic HTML5 structure with appropriate landmark elements (<header>, <nav>, <main>, <article>, <footer>)
  • Logical heading hierarchy (single H1 per page, no skipped levels)
  • Descriptive alt text on all meaningful images
  • Colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG AA minimums (4.5:1 for body text)
  • Full keyboard navigation support with visible focus indicators
  • Skip to main content link for keyboard users
  • ARIA labels on interactive elements and navigation landmarks
  • All form inputs have associated visible labels
  • Minimum touch target size of 44×44px on interactive elements
  • Respect for prefers-reduced-motion media query
  • System font stack — no external font dependencies
  • Responsive design that works at 200% zoom

Conformance Status

HomeRecordingStudio.ca is substantially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Substantially conformant means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Older blog content may have images without adequate alt text — these are being updated progressively.
  • The contact form does not currently provide inline error messages — errors are communicated via browser alert. This will be improved in a future update.

We welcome feedback on the accessibility of this website. If you encounter any barriers or have suggestions for improvement, please contact us. We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days.
